"Sola Scriptura" means "Scripture Alone."
What happens when our church leaders stop teaching scripture alone? What happens when we don't live by scripture alone?
Charles H. Spurgeon (1834 - 1892) was a theologian, hymn writer, & Baptist pastor who wrote & preached more than any other preacher or theologian in the history of the Church. Spurgeon stated:
“Evidently, they [Christ & the Apostles] regarded the statements of the scriptures conclusive. They took counsel of the scriptures, & so they ended the matter. ‘It is written’ was to them proof positive & indisputable. ‘Thus saith the Lord’ was the final word: enough for their mind & heart; & enough for their conscience & understanding . . . So it ought to be with us.”
The purpose of this conference is to heed the biblical admonishment of Spurgeon & to search the scriptures with a sincere heart & a Spirit–led mind.
